IT Field Engineer - focus on customer service, communication, project management, and implementation.

Central Office Systems is growing and is the trusted Information Technology resource / liaison for Small to Mid-Sized Businesses throughout Southeastern Wisconsin, Illinois, and Indiana! We also service clients throughout the United States with remote managed services, and cloud based solutions.

This position requires a person with a background in Windows Server management, virtualization, disaster recovery, and networking.

We are looking for an engineer with drive and passion; someone with excellent time management, troubleshooting, and customer service skills. In this position you’ll often be working one on one with clients, business owners, and end users who are experiencing technical difficulties in a fast paced environment. We’re looking for someone that just “gets it” when it comes to dealing with customers, always putting them, and their best interests first.

Experience and Skills:

  • 3+ years of practical consulting/technical support experience
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 through 2019, 3+ years preferred.
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Administration
  • Network Management. Demonstrated networking skills / knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, WINS, LDAP, and the like. 3+ years preferred.
  • Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 through 2016
  • Microsoft Office 365 (Hosted Exchange, Hosted SharePoint, Teams, and Azure AD)
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • VMWare ESXi Virtualization
  • Microsoft Hyper-V (all versions)
  • Routers / Firewalls – Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Barracuda (including QoS, VLAN, VPN, et cetera)
  • VOIP Administration
  • Security Administration – SentinelOne, Webroot, Huntress
  • Must possess excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Capable of working with high-maintenance clients and meeting project deadlines
  • Ability to evaluate clients’ needs and make recommendations for upgrades
  • A reliable car, a valid driver’s license, and active auto insurance (proof of insurance required)
