Cabling and Camera Installation Specialist

Compensation: $25 - $35 an hour based on experience

We are a leader in cabling and infrastructure technologies. Seeking experienced Low-Voltage Data Cabling Technicians to join our team in the Waukesha / Milwaukee area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation of pathways and cabling.
  • Analyze blueprints effectively.
  • Analyze upcoming tasks and anticipate which equipment, tools, procedures, and training will be needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to complete an overall job layout for projects of limited scope and size.
  • Opportunity to lead.
  • Enforce a safe jobsite and maintain compliance with company safety standards.
  • Installation and termination of peripheral devices.
  • Programming and testing of the system.
  • Customer training of the appropriate systems.
  • Maintenance and support, service calls of the installed systems.
  • Travel to various locations to replace/troubleshoot hardware/equipment.
  • Monitor progress of work, delivery, and implementation.
  • Accurately complete required paperwork.

Education/Skills/Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills - verbal, written and listening.
  • Solid attention to detail with good follow-through.
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans.
  • Ability to work in team environment and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Bend, lift and carry equipment on a regular basis.
  • Bend, lift, twist, turn, and crawl into tight spaces to install devices and equipment.
  • Ability to terminate cable according to color codes.
  • Ability to frequently climb up/down ladder (minimum 6’) and perform extended overhead cabling/wiring from ladder.
  • Ability to grip, push, pull feed cable (up to 1200 pair) vertically into closets, horizontally in cable trays and between walls, ceilings, and floors.
  • Ability to drive to job sites, to frequently get in/out of vehicle and to load/unload tools and material supplies.
